Hi everyone. Welcome to my new website the Mood Ring Kitchen! Cooking can be therapeutic and a good way to blow off steam. It can help to channel creativity, inspiration and pleasure. Cooking forces you to be mindful and engage all of the senses. You can put on your apron after a challenging day and lose yourself in the process of preparing a meal for yourself or others too. You can stir your frustrations away, whisk up new ideas and savor the aromas while supper simmers. I consider my kitchen as a place that reflects my mood and allows me to shift my perspective on food and life. To me, you’re not just measuring ingredients while cooking but also your patience, endurance and ingenuity.
I’m a country girl with a taste for the world. I have roots in southern style cooking but love to try new recipes inspired by family, media, travel and dining experiences. My passion is sourcing fun recipes and getting scrappy with interesting components. I prefer working with minimal ingredients that pack big flavor! It’s more about experimentation and seeing if this or that could work. I am constantly learning by trial and error, usually the latter, and then making something my own. Mood Ring Kitchen
I’m a self teaching home cook and aspiring foodie entrepreneur. I enjoy coming up with creative ways to prepare flavorful food such as snacks, desserts and everything in between. Cooking is a way for me to challenge myself and satisfy curiosities about different ingredients.
The hope is to produce something thoughtful, memorable or every once in a while maybe even wonderful. I enjoy following my “gut” and exploring new recipes that can be comforting, exciting and nourishing.
