ToASTY Grilled Cheese

Are you a fan of grilled cheese? What are your favorite ingredients to use? Do you have a tried and true method?

So many questions but there are endless ways to make a grilled cheese from the cooking method to types of bread, cheese and add-ins.  I wanted to share my best version so far after discovering the life changing substitute of mayo for butter!

Skeptical?🤔 Hear me out. Spreading a little mayo on the outside of the bread was risky, especially for moi who is not a huge fan of mayo. After a few stumbles, I finally got the timing down and it was well worth the risk and effort.

I also like to use a couple different types of cheese. Cheddar is a must while pepper jack adds a nice little bite.  Also, if you have bacon on hand it adds a crunchy component to your sandwich plus some salty goodness. Don’t forget the pickle!🥒🥓🧀🌶🍞

You will need:  1 slice cheddar cheese, 1 slice pepper jack cheese, 1-2 pieces of cooked bacon, 2 slices of bread (I used honey wheat), 2 T of mayo

To prepare:  Spread mayo on the outside of 2 slices of bread.  Add 2 slices of cheese to the inside plus a strip or two of crispy bacon. Press together and place in heated pan. Let cook for a minute or two keeping a close eye not to burn. Flip and repeat. Remove when brown and toasty. Enjoy! ✌️💜🍴
