Need to switch up taco night? Look no further than taco bread! 👀🌮🥖 I’ve recently been experimenting with fresh bread from the bakery and making my own garlic bread instead of using the store bought kind and it has made a world of a difference!
I also enjoy taco style recipes so decided to marry the two📝👰 I looked for for a French loaf at the store but could only find Italian which made for a much larger base. I could have elected to tear out some up the bread but nah. Me and carbs are like 💕
So I spread some refried black beans across the bottom, added a layer of taco meat, diced tomato, cheese, and black olives. I baked at 350 for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese was nice and melted.
The results? Tacoliscious!🤤 The bread was crispy while the other ingredients melded together into one big happy family.👨👩👧👦 I also assembled a plate of toppings to include sliced avocado, sour cream, and salsa. The creamy, cool, and spicy elements set the bread off perfectly! ✨ See below for the recipe and suggestions for the other half of the bread!👇🍕

You will need: An Italian or French loaf of bread, can of refried black beans, taco seasoning packet, can of diced tomatoes, Monterrey jack shredded cheese, small can sliced black olives
To prepare: Preheat oven to 350 and line baking sheet with foil. Fry one pound of ground beef, drain, and season with taco packet according to directions. Slice loaf bread in half and spread beans on one half. Set the other half aside for later. Spoon taco meat over the beans, then add some diced tomato, cheese, and top with black olives. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes until bread is crispy and cheese is melty. Enjoy!😋

For the other half: I made French bread pizza for lunch the next day two ways, pepperoni and Hawaiian style. I basically spooned crushed tomato over the loaf and topped with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan. Then I sliced up 3-4 large pepperoni and added over half the pizza with some leftover sliced black olives.
Next, I tore small pieces of sliced ham and spread on top of the remaining half and simply added some pineapple tidbits and baked again at 350 for 15-20 minutes. The cheese will let you know when it’s done. Easy, simple, and tasty! It’s also a great way to repurpose those random, leftover ingredients that you don’t know what else to do with. Go wild, experiment, have fun!✌️💜🍴
